1 dead after collision between motorcycle, pickup truck on Groat Road

A 46-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle and pickup truck collided on Groat Road on Monday.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene when first responders arrived at around 4 p.m., an Alberta Health Services spokesperson confirmed. 

“It was reported that a motorcycle was traveling northbound on Groat Road when the male operator lost control and struck a centre barrier,” reads a news release from Edmonton Police Service.

EPS said the motorcycle travelled over the barrier and collided with the truck. 

The driver of the truck was not injured. 

The collision happened on Groat Road, just south of the 107th Avenue overpass, Edmonton Police said.

Police continue to investigate the collision.
