Alberta Transportation is working with the commercial trucking industry to share on-highway services open to truckers across Alberta as they continue to supply goods during the COVID-19 response. Truck drivers can go to the 511 Alberta website where they can find a link to a map with various restaurants, rest stops and vehicle inspection locations that are still open to provide service. The Alberta Motor Transport Association has provided the information to Alberta Transportation as a service to the commercial trucking industry.
As many restaurants have closed or altered their operation, it can be hard for those that rely on them, like truck drivers, to find a place to eat. This map will allow truckers to have a reliable source to check so they can plan their stops, and get the service they need. The map also provides additional information on if the facilities that remain in service that have a bathroom.
Using the interactive map is as simple as clicking on one of the amenities, or rest stops to see a description and further information about the service. Truckers can also find a specific address by using the search bar available on the website. The map will be updated frequently but drivers are encouraged to call the business ahead of time to ensure they are still in service. View the map HERE.
