ESCANABA — Vehicles were lined up across the U.P. State Fairgrounds Thursday morning to receive food from a Feeding America truck. The event was hosted by the Community Foundation for Delta County.

“Today, we’ll be distributing about 21,300 pounds of food,” Community Foundation for Delta County Chair Bob Van Damme said Thursday.

Approximately 350 families received food during Thursday’s event.

Van Damme said the Community Foundation for Delta County was glad to be involved with food distribution efforts in the area.

“We just enjoy giving back to the community and helping people,” he said.
