We’ve already seen Camaro-esque styling applied to the front end of crossovers like Chevrolet Blazer and the Chevrolet Trailblazer, but what about a Chevrolet Camaro off-roader? What would a creation like that look like? To answer the question, Instagram user and vehicular artist @tuningcar_ps has created the following Camaro pickup truck rendering.
Although we are currently unaware of any plans to expand the Chevrolet Camaro nameplate to include an off-roader pickup truck, we do know that the current sixth generation will reach the end of its life around 2023, and that its replacement may not be in the form we’ve come to expect. Nevertheless, this just-for-fun rendering does provide a unique look at a somewhat unexpected styling mashup.
Interestingly, the artist chose to base this Chevrolet Camaro pickup off the Ford F-150 Raptor, rather than one of GM’s many pickup truck offerings. As such, the styling mashup gets even weirder, with the Chevy fascia somewhat at odds with the Blue Oval brand’s window line and various body styling elements.
The artist offers up multiple iterations of the same rendering, each with a few experimental tweaks added here and there to help them stand out. These include different paint colors, different pillar treatments, different underbody protection plates, and different lighting. We also noticed black Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 style wheels, which were sized down and wrapped in off-roader rubber to complete the overall theme.
While we’re sure that the purists out there are fuming at the idea of applying anything from the Camaro to a truck, we should at least applaud the artist’s willingness to take a risk, regardless of the results.
