Great Rivers United Way to host first-ever ‘Food Truck Fandango’

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Food Truck Fans are getting a chance to support some of their favorite vendors and a local organization.

Great Rivers United Way is hosting its first-ever ‘Food Truck Fandango’ on August 6th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the parking lot located at 333 North Front Street, the former CenturyLink building.

This socially-distanced fundraiser features a fixed-price menu from three local food trucks, BFC Grilled, Fathead Steve’s, and Iguana’s Mexican Street Café.

People will have a choice of two stuffed grilled cheeses, a pulled poke sandwich, a burrito bowl, or two tacos.

It’s a fun way to enjoy the summer weather, great food, and make a difference in our community.

“We’ve seen COVID-19 affect our community, and it continues to affect our community. The thing that hasn’t changed is the need for funding,” said Katie Sparks, Development Director, Great Rivers United Way.

The organization is taking measures to reduce contact, including online ticket sales and a curbside pick-up option.

Volunteers will be wearing masks, and the organization highly encourages the public to do the same.

Tickets purchased online are $13 and include VIP pick-up from 4 pm to 5 pm, door prizes, as well as the best meal selection.

Same-day purchases are 15 dollars.

Money from the tickets go toward the food trucks and Great Rivers United Way.
