Man shot in chest, pickup truck fled scene: Drayton Valley RCMP

A 25-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to the chest is in hospital after a morning shooting west of Edmonton, say Drayton Valley RCMP.

Police responded to the call at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday after a call to 911.

“The RCMP are actively looking for a vehicle believed to be involved,” said RCMP Cpl. Laurel Scott in a morning news release.

Police are looking for a black, extended cab, older model Ford or Chevrolet pick-up truck that witnesses report fled the scene of the shooting.

A white and red decal, possibly a maple leaf, was visible on the truck’s rear window.

The suspects in the truck are believed to be in possession of a firearm and should not be approached, warn police, adding that the case appears to be “isolated,” and “public safety is not at risk.”
