Northwest Equipment Sales, a Volvo and Mack trucks dealer, has expanded its operations with the opening of a new location in Burbank, Wash.

The state-of-the-art facility, located at 171 Gateway Road, marks the fourth overall site owned by the dealer and is near the Tri-Cities, a growing metropolitan area comprising the greater Kennewick, Richland and Pasco communities in southeast Washington.

“Longtime Mack dealer Northwest Equipment Sales is an excellent example of the ongoing commitment our dealers make to their markets and our customers,” says Jonathan Randall, Mack Trucks senior vice president of North American sales and marketing. “Opening a new facility during the current COVID-19 situation was no easy feat and we are proud that Northwest Equipment Sales was able to make this extensive investment in the brand to better serve Mack customers.”

The 30,000 sq.-ft. facility sits on 10 acres and offers $250,000 in parts inventory, with plans to increase that amount in the next few months. The facility has four drive-through service bays and an end bay, allowing 15 trucks to be serviced at one time. The dealership has eight service technicians and plans to have 18 employees total by the end of 2020.

“Northwest Equipment Sales is a valuable part of the Volvo Trucks family, and we appreciate its dedication in supporting the success of our customers over the years,” says Jeff Lester, senior vice president of sales, Volvo Trucks North America. “The dealership’s investment in the Tri-Cities area will help to support overall economic growth at a time when it’s needed most.”

Construction at the facility began in March 2019, but had to be initially suspended March 23, 2020, because of state restrictions as a result of COVID-19. However, the dealership was eventually deemed an essential business by the state and construction resumed March 31.

“We are pleased that we were able to move forward with opening our new facility in one of the fastest growing areas in Washington, despite the challenges created by COVID-19,” says Jesse Hibler, vice president of operations, Northwest Equipment Sales. “We look forward to continuing to deliver the highest level of customer service at all four of our locations.”
