OSHP: Driver hospitalized after pickup truck hit by train in Fairfield County

Authorities say the truck was the only vehicle hit by the train.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a pickup truck was hit by a train on Monday.

Troopers were called to the area of Lancaster-New Lexington Road NE and Logan Thornville Road NE in Rushcreek Township around 5:15 p.m.

A trooper at the scene tells 10TV the driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to Grant Medical Center. There’s no word on the driver’s condition.

Authorities say the truck was the only vehicle hit by the train.

No other injuries were reported.
