Police urge vigilance after rash of tractor-trailer thefts in Sarnia – Truck News

Sarnia Police are investigating a series of thefts involving tractor-trailers in the area between June 8 and 10. Police believe the three incidents are connected.

Twenty-five trailers were broken into on a Saturday, June 8, and a 2019 Kenworth T680 truck was stolen in the area of Ube Drive. The truck, later found in Halton Region on the west side of the Greater Toronto Area, was hooked up to two separate trailers that were also stolen from the marshaling yard at separate times, according to a news release.

On June 9, an East Indian male wearing a white surgical mask was located near a trailer at 6000 Telfer Road in Sarnia, Ont. The customs seal had been cut off, and one of the pallets within the trailer had been opened. A company driver observed the thief who fled the area in a white Mercedes sedan.
