Theft: West Bridge Street
Police are in the process of identifying a man and woman who stole a wallet, containing $60 in cash, credit cards and a driver’s license, at about noon June 19 from a FedEx truck parked outside Giant Eagle, 50 West Bridge Street.
The victim, the FedEx truck driver, had parked outside Giant Eagle to deliver a package and use the store restroom. Next to the truck was a silver Dodge Caravan, parked in a space reserved for the handicapped.
Store security video showed a man and an older woman, riding an electric scooter, arrive at the Caravan. The man loaded groceries into the vehicle while the woman climbed into the passenger seat.
Then the man opened the passenger-side door of the FedEx truck and reached inside. After a few seconds, he drove away in the Caravan. When the FedEx driver returned to his truck, the passenger-side door was still open.
Another store security video showed which cash register the man and woman used to buy groceries. Store managers said they can identify the man and woman through their Giant Eagle discount card, if police make a written request for the information.
