Summit announces Arkansas expansion

Summit Truck Group announced Tuesday it has assumed responsibility for the International Truck franchise in Jonesboro, Ark.

Heartland Equipment previously operated an International Truck dealership in Jonesboro and will continue to own and operate a farm equipment, construction equipment, and land leveling equipment operation in the area.

Summit announces it has leased a facility at 5711 Commerce Square in Jonesboro that will be the site of Summit of Jonesboro.

From this location, the company is authorized to sell International trucks, IC Bus school buses, and Isuzu trucks, as well as used trucks, parts, and service to support customers in the Jonesboro market. Located about 75 miles northwest of Memphis, Tenn., Jonesboro is closest geographically to the Summit dealership in Memphis, as well as to other Summit locations in Little Rock, Ark., and Cape Girardeau, Mo., the company says.

“Summit already has some fleet customers in the Jonesboro area who have purchased trucks from Summit in the past. We look forward to opening up our new facility in Jonesboro, so that we can support those customers more fully,” says Summit CEO Justin Fink.

Summit says it intends to hire additional employees to operate this new location, and expects to open the facility in October.
