The Carlex Design Ford Ranger is not happy

Should we be worried about Carlex Design’s new Ford Ranger? That thing does not look happy.

The Polish tuner is making a bit of a name for itself in the pickup tuning world, having already designed kits for the Merc X-Class, the VW Amarok, the Nissan Navara, the Toyota Hilux, the Fiat Fullback and the Mitsubishi L200. The Ranger, though, is perhaps the most bonkers of all.

Carlex describes its efforts as a “unique exterior conversion” and who are we to argue with that? That busy front bumper does most of the heavy lifting in the ’styling’ department, whilst the wide arch extensions, massive skid plates, side steps and the roll bar all help with the off-road/end of the world look.

The whole kit has been coated with Line-X too, so it should stand up to some punishment.

Elsewhere there’s a suspension lift kit, 18-inch wheels clad in chunky tyres, a StyleRack bike carrier and an off-road roof lamp. Nice. The interior has been given the once over too, with reshaped and retrimmed seats featuring plenty of loud leather and Alcantara.

What do we reckon, Internet? An improvement on the standard Ranger, or a step too far from Carlex?
