Toy collection scheduled for Toys for Tots
Lower Valley Ambulance on behalf of USMC Toys for Tots will host a toy drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 1 in the parking lot between Giant Eagle Express and Target, 2611 Freeport Road, Harmar.
New, unwrapped gifts will be accepted to benefit children in need this upcoming holiday season.
Bike run planned Aug. 22 by Ashley’s Angels
Ashley’s Angels will sponsor a motorcycle run and after-dinner Aug. 22 at the New Kensington Eagles, 2134 Freeport Road.
Registration will be at 9:30 a.m. and kickstands up will be at 11 a.m. Cost is $20 per rider; $10 per passenger; and includes dinner at 4 p.m. Tickets for the dinner only are $15.
There will be an open cash bar, music, a silent auction and 50/50 raffle and 10-minute chair massages will be sold for $1 per minute.
Proceeds will benefit Ashley’s Angels charity that raises money to help families who have lost a member to the opioid epidemic.

TryLife Center in Lower Burrell is offering a bonus pack of diapers to every client who makes an appointment for today through July 30 and arrives on time.

Harrison Hills Park plans program about composting
Friends of Harrison Hills Park will offer a free program, “Compost Critters,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 at the park Environmental Learning Center, Natrona Heights.
Participants will learn how to improve their garden soil and make a wonderful habitat for wildlife.

Christopher’s Light charity accepting donations
Childrens charity Christopher’s Light is collecting donations of back to school supplies, gently used clothing and personal care items from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and Thursdays at its location at 202 Point St., Saltsburg.
Christopher’s Light serves children in need who live in Armstrong, Westmoreland and Indiana counties. Items needed include backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, facial tissues, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, sunscreen and toothpaste. Anyone who can donate their time to deliver items to families in need or sort and prepare items at the Saltsburg building should send a message at the group’s Facebook page.
