Saraikela, Sept 13: A trailer truck collided with a 709 pickup truck on the loop between Mahalisai and Burudih Gate on the Saraikela- Kharsawan Road leading to the instantaneous death of the pickup truck driver. The driver whose identity could not be verified till the time of going to press was approximately 55 years old. The impact of the collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

According to witnesses the trailer was moving towards Saraikela from Kharsawan while the 709 truck was headed towards Kharsawan at tremendous speed. The impact, according to them was such that the noise could be heard within a radious of quite a few kilometers.

Since the accident occurred in the middle of the busy road traffic was held up for more than an hour on the busy route. The police arrived on the spot and managed to extract the body of the truck driver from the wrecked cabin of the pickup vehicle after a long struggle. Cranes were used to remove wreckage of both the vehicles.
