SYLMAR — A crash early Friday morning involving a pickup and a box truck caused the box truck to overturn on the westbound 210 Freeway in Sylmar and prompted the closure of a stretch of the westbound lanes.
The crash occurred near the Hubbard Street exit about 4:15 a.m. when the pickup truck stalled in the middle lane of the freeway and the box truck crashed into it and overturned, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The box truck was blocking lanes of traffic and leaking diesel fuel onto the road, prompting a SigAlert to be issued for the westbound lanes at Hubbard Street, the CHP said.
As of 5:30 a.m., the No. 1 lane of the 210 Freeway was open, but the No. 2 and 3 lanes remained closed until further notice, according to the California Highway Patrol.
No injuries were immediately reported.
