A man lost consciousness Thursday while driving in Wadley.
“The truck hit quite a few items,” said a spokesman with the Wadley Police Department.
The truck left the roadway, took out a street sign, two city lights and a canopy over a store on the corner of Main Street. Then the truck crossed the roadway and struck a vehicle that had two occupants in it.
“After taking that vehicle out, it traveled up against the bank (Queensborough) itself causing extensive damage to the bank,” the spokesman said. The vehicle stopped up against the bank and a fire hydrant.
City Administrator Kyle Edenfield said the accident did not break the fire hydrant. He just broke a piece off it.”
The spokesman said there were no fatalities.
The driver of the truck was identified as Randall McKinnon, 55, from Martinez.
At the time of the accident McKinnon was suffering from a medical condition the spokesman said.
The driver of the other vehicle and the passenger had no visible injuries but were taken to the emergency room at Jefferson Hospital to be evaluated.
Under the circumstances, no charges will be filed.
