Trucking Announcements: FMSCA’s new deputy administrator, Peterson joins Truckstop – Truck News

This week, Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association held its 18th annual charity golf, Ricardo Buranello joined Teletrac Navman as chief operations and financial officer. Meanwhile, Vinn White was named as FMCSA’s deputy administrator, Sam Peterson joined Truckstop as chief technology officer, and Jean DellAmore joined Ari-Hetra as its vice-president.

APTA holds 18th annual charity golf tournament

Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) held its 18th annual charity golf tournament in Turo, Nova Scotia, last Wednesday.

Over 130 golfers were on the links to help support the APTA’s charity fund to benefit members and their employees who may be experiencing financial hardship.

Parts for Trucks won the game, and Trimble was named the runner-up team.

Buranello joins Teletrac Navman’s C-suite

Teletrac Navman, the connected mobility platform, has appointed Ricardo Buranello as its chief operations and financial officer.

Buranello is a technology executive with more than 15 years of experience in sales and business development, general management, finance, and M&A. Most recently, he served as the senior vice-president of Telit Cinterion. He also worked at Siemens and Totvs.

White named FMCSA’s deputy administrator

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced Vinn White as deputy administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). He will also serve as the agency’s acting administrator.

White has been a member of Biden-Harris administration since 2021, he currently serves as the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) acting chief artificial intelligence (AI) officer. 

White brings more than 15 years of experience to his new role – including his tenure as a senior advisor to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Prior to joining FMCSA, White was responsible for coordinating USDOT initiatives on emerging transportation technologies, including coordinating policies related to automated driving systems, drone and advanced air mobility systems, surface vehicle-to-everything connectivity, 5G integration with the nation’s critical aviation infrastructure and more.

Truckstop welcomes Peterson as chief technology officer

Sam Peterson has joined Truckstop as chief technology officer. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s software engineering, infrastructure, security, as well as driving technology initiatives.

Peterson brings over two decades of experience in leading technological advancements across various industries. Before joining Truckstop, he held leadership positions at companies such as Boats Group, Open English, and Overstock.com.

“Sam is an accomplished technology leader with a proven track record of driving innovation and delivering results in high-growth environments,” said Kendra Tucker, chief executive officer at Truckstop. “We look forward to leveraging his diverse experience in leading the development and implementation of essential technological initiatives.”

DellAmore joins Ari-Hetra as vice-president

Ari-Hetra, a heavy-duty vehicle lifting and support equipment provider, appointed Jean DellAmore as its vice-president. DellAmore, formerly with Stertil-Koni, brings more than 20 years of industry experience, the company said.

At Stertil-Koni, he served as the company’s first president since its U.S. launch in 1997.

“His deep industry knowledge and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our market position and drive our growth strategy,” said Chris Jones, president of Ari-Hetra.

DellAmore will oversee strategic initiatives and spearhead the development of innovative solutions.
