Trucking Announcements: Wolk joins Canada Cartage, CFOs hired at Vicinity Motors, Truckstop – Truck News

Each week, TruckNews.com lists notable moves, promotions and awards in the trucking industry.

In this week’s announcements, Adam Wolk joined Canada Cartage as vice-president of fleet maintenance, while Lynette McMann was appointed KAG Canada’s executive vice-president, and Gary Silva was promoted to executive vice-president of sales at KAG North America.

Meanwhile, Vicinity and Truckstop hired Tina Stewart Stewart and Joe Pergola, respectively, as chief financial officers. InCharge Energy appointed Nikolas Runge as its new chief technology officer, and Tim West joined Davco Technology as a president.

Adam Wolk joins Canada Cartage

Adam Wolk has joined Canada Cartage as a vice-president of fleet maintenance, bringing nearly thirty years of industry experience to the new role.

After spending a decade of his career on the shop floor as a mechanic and lead-hand, Wolk has spent the last 20 years managing fleets and fleet maintenance in roles of increasing responsibility.

Prior to joining Canada Cartage, he was the maintenance director at Challenger Motor Freight, now part of the Fastfrate Group, for nearly six years.

Earlier in his career, Wolk served as a director of maintenance and procurement at SLH Transport (currently known as C.A.T.) and held the field maintenance manager role at Ryder Canada.

He has Ontario 310T and 310S mechanic licences and an MBA from Queen’s University.

Wolk said he looks forward to learning about Canada Cartage’s fleet and “getting down to the business of maintaining the equipment for maximum safety, efficiency, and uptime, while reducing costs and keeping customers’ freight moving.”

McMann, Silva promoted to executive vice-presidents at KAG

Lynette McMann of KAG Canada was named the company’s new executive vice-president, while Gray Silva was promoted to executive vice-president of sales for KAG North America. Both McMann and Silva have worked at the company for many years.

McMann joined KAG Canada 31 years ago and has spent her entire career with the organization, serving in many distinct roles as her level of expertise progressed.

“Her work ethic and dedication to operational excellence and customer service has contributed significantly to the ongoing growth of our Canadian operations,” the company said in a news release. “She will continue to work with our senior leadership team to ensure we have best-in-class programs for the safety and wellbeing of our employees.”

Meanwhile, Silva joined KAG as a member of the management development program in February of 2010 and has held various operational roles over the years, gaining insight into the needs of KAG’s current and potential customers across North America.

Silva will continue to be responsible for commercial leadership across all operating groups within KAG: energy, specialty products, food products, merchant gas, and KAG Canada.

“Over the past several years, Gray has grown the scope of our commercial focus by widening our approach and strategy while leading an incredibly talented sales team,” the release reads.

Vicinity Motors welcomes new CFO

Tina Stewart has joined Vicinity Motors as its chief financial officer. She succeeds Dan Buckle and brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, the company announced in a news release.

Stewart’s experience includes a variety of finance executive roles in industries such as mining, telecommunications, container terminal operations, and renewable energy.

“I would like to sincerely thank Dan for his contributions in leading us to this inflection point and welcome Tina’s capabilities in maximizing profitability through business process improvement, cost management, and long-term strategic decision-making,” said Brent Phillips, president of Vicinity Motor, in a release. “Her achievements, as well as expertise in renewable energy and sustainability and financial management of listed companies, will make a significant contribution to the strategic operation and development of Vicinity going forward.”

In her new role at Vicinity, Stewart will provide financial leadership by implementing short-, medium-, and long-term planning, risk management, corporate strategic development, system implementation, regulatory compliance reporting, internal controls, and tax advisory.

Prior to joining the company, Stewart was a vice-president of finance in North America for Drax Group, where she led a 60-person finance team to support the manufacturing of compressed wood pellets.

Runge names InCharge Energy CTO

InCharge Energy appointed Nikolas Runge as its new chief technology officer (CTO) following his recent tenure as interim CTO, which he began in October last year.

With a track record in the EV industry, Runge brings years of experience and innovation to the executive team. He has been with InCharge for nearly three years now and originally started as director of product and services in 2021.

According to the news release, Runge’s accomplishments in the company include successfully scaling the engineering and product teams to support the rollout of more than 4,300 EV chargers in 2023.

Before joining InCharge, Runge held various roles, including senior product manager at BTC Power and senior business development manager at Innogy eMobility U.S.

Truckstop hires new CFO

Joe Pergola joined Truckstop as chief financial officer (CFO). He will be responsible for global financial operations, overseeing planning and analysis, controllership, accounting and tax, investor relations, investments, capital structure, and growth strategies.

Pergola brings more than 25 years of business and financial leadership experience to Truckstop. Prior to joining the company, he was the CFO for Connatix and the CFO for Integral Ad Science.

Throughout his career, Pergola has led and transformed finance, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, business and sales operations, and real estate for media and ad tech companies, including Amazon, Criteo, The Weather Company, Yahoo, and Time Warner.

West hired as president at Davco

Davco Technology, a Clarience Technologies’ company that manufactures fuel filtration and water separation systems for diesel engines, has welcomed Tim West as its new president.

West joins the organization after nearly 12 years with the Commercial Vehicle Group, where he most recently served as vice-president of seating and structures within the vehicle solutions division. 

Other titles he held at the company include vice-president of customer success, vice-president of warehouse automation, senior director and product line manager for global truck seating, director and product line manager for off-road seats, trim, and wipers, and director of product line management for global wire harnesses.

Earlier in his career, West held a variety of program manager and engineering positions with Honeywell, MicroMetl, American Boa, and ArvinMeritor.
