TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.
Tallahassee Nurseries opened in 1938 providing the community with a place to get all their gardening supplies.
They’ve remained open during the coronavirus pandemic, and say they’ve even seen new customers wanting to grow their own plants or vegetable garden while they remain at home.
Tallahassee Nurseries says sanitization and safety are at the forefront.
“We offer the plexiglass at the register, we have a handwashing station at the front of the parking lot, as you’re coming and going,” said Mickey Clickner, the bedding manager at Tallahassee Nurseries. “You’re happy to have you wash your hands. We do encourage customers to wear a mask for employee safety and their own.”
This year, Tallahassee Nurseries was named Southern Living’s Best Garden Center in the Southeast.
Year-round, Tallahassee Nurseries offers locally grown and locally sourced products.
Now, they’re partnering with Georgia Peach Truck, which will bring a truck-load of freshly picked Georgia peaches to the store for customers to purchase.
“You can order them online, you can reserve them online, or you can show up in person,” Clickner said. “It’s kind of first-come, first-serve. Their website is georgiapeachtruck.com and I can speak from experience to say they are quite delicious.”
That is happening Wednesday, July 29 at Tallahassee Nurseries, located at 2911 Thomasville Road.
