AKRON, Ohio — A woman with a fake ID told a worker at a South Akron auto shop she was a federal agent, demanding and then taking his pickup truck, according to police.
Lisa Pinter, 50, of Cuyahoga Falls, is charged with theft by deception and impersonating a police officer, police say.
An 56-year-old employee at Stan’s Auto Service, 1465 S. Main St., tells police that Pinter was in the lobby of the business when he arrived for work early Monday morning. The worker says Pinter told him she was a federal agent and showed him a photo ID from the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Census.
Pinter then demanded the keys to his 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck, police say. She reportedly drove off, but returned a few hours later and was taken into custody by police.
Police say Pinter was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital for a medical evaluation.
